TL;DR

Account Director (SaaS, Sports): Managing and growing a portfolio of high-value enterprise accounts with an accent on driving adoption, commercial expansion, and ensuring exceptional service. Focus on building strong client relationships, translating client needs into action plans, and optimising workflows using AI.

Location: Remote (South Africa). Must be based in South Africa.

Salary: Up to ZAR 900,000

What you will do

  • Serve as the primary strategic point of contact for multiple enterprise accounts.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and proactively manage account health.
  • Drive adoption, engagement, and commercial expansion across your portfolio.
  • Lead regular client check-ins, reporting cycles, and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, delivery, and operations for seamless execution.
  • Own renewals, upsells, forecasting, and commercial hygiene across your accounts.
  • Use AI and tools to optimise account workflows, including summarising meetings and analysing performance data.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (ideally 3+ years) managing multiple enterprise accounts in account management or customer success.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and retain high-value accounts.
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong organisational skills to manage parallel priorities.
  • Commercial awareness and confidence in discussing renewals, expansions, and contract elements.
  • Proactive, independent working style with a strong ownership mentality.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
  • Reliable internet connection for remote work.

Nice to have

  • Experience in SaaS, media, technology, or mobile app environments.
  • Experience with SDK/API or technical products.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort interpreting product usage data.
  • Experience managing a portfolio rather than a single account.
