Company

hirify.global operates a large global network that protects and accelerates Internet applications and supports the open and free Internet.

What you will do

  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team of kernel and systems engineers while fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of the Linux Kernel and core operating-system components, including a continuous delivery pipeline targeting production rollout within 30 days of merge.
  • Set the kernel development roadmap and balance new features with production stability, security, and performance.
  • Support upstream Linux Kernel contributions and help engineers become maintainers of critical subsystems.
  • Collaborate with hardware and service teams on hardware onboarding and workload optimization, while enabling contributions from engineers across hirify.global.
  • Lead automated telemetry and debugging systems for kernel-level crashes and use DORA metrics to improve team impact.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams, preferably in low-level systems, kernel development, or large-scale infrastructure.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux Kernel internals, x86 and ARM architecture, and operating-system fundamentals, including memory management, schedulers, and network stacks.
  • Experience building or managing CI/CD pipelines for foundational software and automating operational toil.
  • Proven engagement with the open-source community and understanding of Linux Kernel upstreaming and maintainer dynamics.
  • Experience with pre-production QA and synthetic workload evaluation in a global, reboot-limited production environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex kernel-level challenges as actionable business insights for cross-functional stakeholders.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work in a large-scale technology environment focused on building a better Internet.
  • Participate in hirify.global’s equity plan.
  • Applicants reaching the offer stage may be asked to attend an in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub.
  • Some work may involve information protected by U.S. export control laws; authorization to receive controlled technology without export-license sponsorship may be required.
  • Reasonable accommodations are available during the application process.
