Salary: $265,000 – $295,000 per year

What you will do

• Recruit, hire, and lead a small team of senior engineers focused on workload orchestration.
• Own the architecture for headless execution and job scheduling across workstations, on-prem HPC, and cloud.
• Act as a player-coach, writing production code and reviewing PRs during the first year.
• Lead the execution of integrations with third-party platforms like HEEDS, ModelCenter, and PhysicsX Flux.
• Collaborate with the Product Manager to translate product strategy into engineering plans and roadmaps.
• Design systems that operate within strict IT governance, export control, and heterogeneous infrastructure.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineering teams.
• Hands-on expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience shipping software into customer-managed, on-prem, or air-gapped environments.
• Proven track record of recruiting and developing senior engineering talent.
• Must be based in the US and available to work from the NYC office 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Background in HPC, scientific computing, or engineering simulation (Slurm, PBS, OpenMDAO).
• Experience building for customers with ITAR/EAR obligations or strict IT governance.
• Comfort reading and reasoning about C++ codebases.
