Engineering Manager - Environments

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of platform and environment engineers focused on software-defined infrastructure, automation, and observability.
• Own the lifecycle of engineering environments across production and non-production, ensuring release-readiness and compliance with financial services controls.
• Drive automation and standardization using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management, tightly integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and evolve platform capabilities that enable self-service provisioning, consistency, and repeatability for development teams.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging to support application reliability and regulatory expectations.
• Lead large-scale platform improvement programs, modernizing legacy environment patterns and reducing technical debt.

Requirements

• Strong engineering leadership experience with a software or platform-first mindset, ideally in regulated or complex environments.
• Proven experience leading Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE teams.
• Hands-on familiarity with on-premise private cloud and public cloud platforms, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, and Puppet.
• Experience delivering platform modernization and technical debt reduction programmes at scale.
• Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycles, release management, and deployment strategies in regulated environments.
• Ability to engage deeply with engineers on system design, reliability, and architectural trade-offs.
