Systems Lead - Programme (Cybersecurity) (Systems Engineering/Defence): Leading the development of technical capabilities and solutions across complex defence programmes, with an accent on ISO 15288 lifecycle implementation, requirements engineering, architecture, and technical assurance. Focus on managing system-of-systems relationships, reducing technical risk, delivering evidence-based acceptance, and coordinating hardware, firmware, software, and systems engineering teams.

What you will do
- Lead the Systems Engineering discipline across a programme or multiple projects, owning systems work packages, deliverables, quality, schedule, and budget.
- Implement ISO 15288 processes and practices throughout the Systems Engineering lifecycle and assure compliant technical solutions.
- Define technical direction, architecture, design, implementation, risk mitigation, and system-of-systems relationships across projects.
- Coordinate systems, hardware, firmware, and software architects to promote modularity, reuse, and technical excellence.
- Lead design reviews, technical documentation sign-off, customer and supplier engagement, bids, proposals, and technical acceptance activities.
- Manage, mentor, and coach systems engineers and other discipline leads, including line management and early-career development.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, mathematics, or physics, or suitable defence/aerospace industry experience.
- Significant experience in Systems Engineering, system-of-systems principles, capability delivery, development models, and engineering lifecycle processes.
- Strong experience developing requirements and compliant capabilities or solutions using applicable ISO, IEEE, and IEC standards.
- Technical and line-management experience leading systems engineers across programmes or projects.
- Experience producing high-quality technical documentation and conducting formal technical reviews.
- Must be a British Citizen resident in the UK for the past five years for SC clearance eligibility, or ten years for DV clearance eligibility; the role requires the ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.

- INCOSE ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP recognition.
- Technical Subject Matter Expert experience and the ability to develop new areas of expertise.
- Familiarity with NCSC security processes and associated security artefacts.
