Engineering Lead (AI/Fintech)

Location: London; hybrid work with office attendance required on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from January 2027, with some teams potentially attending more often. Work from elsewhere during the rest of the week where appropriate.

What you will do

• Build and guide a high-performing, cross-functional engineering team and foster an inclusive, empowered culture.
• Participate in technical design, code reviews, and architectural decisions while maintaining a high standard of technical excellence.
• Translate product visions and business needs into scalable, production-ready solutions using data-driven technical and strategic decisions.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and data teams to shape priorities, roadmaps, user features, and platform capabilities.
• Coach and develop senior engineers, enabling ownership of technical initiatives and broader organizational influence.
• Hire, onboard, and support engineering talent while maintaining focus on architecture, performance, reliability, and long-term scalability.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading high-performing engineering teams and delivering impactful products.
• Deep technical expertise in software development and system design, with experience designing and building scalable systems.
• Expertise in at least one core technology: Python, TypeScript, AWS, or Terraform.
• Product- and design-oriented approach with the ability to translate user and business needs into high-quality solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and design.
