Systems Engineer (Nuclear Hardening)

Location: Portsmouth, United Kingdom; hybrid working with travel a couple of times a year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and capture end-to-end system needs, expectations, boundaries, functions, constraints, and trade-offs.
• Elicit and validate Nuclear Hardening requirements across the complete system lifecycle.
• Identify mitigations based on installation environments and define responses for military fixed ground installations.
• Produce Nuclear Hardening analysis, mitigation plans, and relevant verification and test plans.
• Lead engagement with customers and test houses to define and agree the Nuclear Hardening approach.
• Design safe, reliable systems that maximise performance and minimise operational costs throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Systems-level experience in Radiation Hardening or Nuclear Hardening, including design and development.
• Understanding of how radiation affects communications equipment.
• Experience with verification and validation.
• Ability to work with complex technical solutions and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Eligibility to gain SC Security Clearance, ideally Developed Vetting (DV), is required.
