Location: Redmond, United States. This is a hybrid role where employees who live within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week.

Salary: USD $119,800 – $234,700 per year (typical U.S. base pay range), or USD $158,400 – $258,000 per year (for San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area).

What you will do

• Serve as the privacy advisor to engineering teams, applying privacy knowledge to user consents, data collection, storage, and processing.
• Translate privacy regulations and standards into actionable engineering requirements for product development.
• Create and execute comprehensive privacy compliance plans across various organizational and business teams.
• Identify, drive adoption of, and monitor the implementation of new and existing privacy controls.
• Develop and maintain privacy standards and policies, including risk assessment templates, audit frameworks, and reporting metrics.
• Educate engineering and research teams on privacy and compliance as a mindset, driving program and tooling improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development, OR equivalent experience.
• Practical experience creating and maintaining compliance programs and conducting privacy reviews.
• Demonstrated team and project management excellence in medium-large scale projects.
• Experience managing privacy, security, or audit compliance related engineering programs.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development, OR equivalent experience.
• 3+ years demonstrated technical and/or feature program management.
• IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
