TL;DR

Senior SDE Lead: Leading and mentoring a team of engineers while contributing hands-on to design, implement, and evolve the Retail Media External API platform, building shared libraries, SDKs, and tooling. Location: Hybrid in Canada or the United States, with an office in Toronto

What you will do

  • Lead and mentor a team of 3–5 engineers, supporting their growth and delivery.
  • Contribute hands-on to design, implementation, code reviews, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Own and evolve the Retail Media External API platform, building shared libraries, SDKs, and tooling.
  • Define and drive the technical roadmap, addressing technical debt and strengthening reusable platform capabilities.
  • Partner with Product and domain teams to shape requirements and roadmap, ensuring effective API exposure.
  • Lead the shift to a federated API model by coaching teams on best practices and establishing design and review standards.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience in managing a software development team, providing regular feedback, mentorship or coaching.
  • Rock-solid foundation in Computer Science (data structures, algorithms, software design).
  • Experience with architecting, developing, and extending large and complex systems.
  • Demonstrated track record of taking the initiative and acting as a technical lead.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with product owners to understand and implement business requirements.
