Senior Software Engineer (AI, AWS & Python)

Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid work model with onsite work at least 50% of the time for employees within commuting distance of a hirify.global office.

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, monitor, scale, and troubleshoot ML- and LLM-based systems powering shared AI services.
• Build secure, high-performance AWS microservices and platform components, owning them from implementation through production monitoring.
• Collaborate with Applied Scientists, Product teams, and Software Engineers to productize AI capabilities.
• Develop reusable AI libraries, frameworks, internal tooling, and platform infrastructure for multiple teams.
• Evaluate and pilot AI tools to improve performance, cost efficiency, and developer productivity.
• Build privacy, security, observability, compliance, and governance into AI systems handling sensitive customer content.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience delivering secure, scalable applications in agile environments.
• Strong software design, coding, testing, and maintainability practices.
• Hands-on experience with Python and Node.js/TypeScript on a major cloud platform, including microservices or serverless patterns, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, containers, and observability.
• Experience building and operating backend services or microservices in a major cloud environment, preferably AWS.
• Experience with the lifecycle of AI solutions and practical work with LLM-based systems or adjacent AI technologies.
• Strong security practices, including IAM, secrets management, privacy controls, communication, and technical leadership.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with AWS CDK.
• Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, model evaluation, RAG, agentic solutions, or MCP servers.
• Experience developing AI evaluation, observability, or governance mechanisms for production systems.
• Experience shaping shared platform capabilities, improving cloud AI performance and reliability, or mentoring peers.
