TL;DR
Principal Product Designer (Fintech): Driving product evolution from deep discovery to handover with platform partners, with an accent on owning complex problem spaces and delivering high-impact Credit Health initiatives. Focus on influencing C-suite stakeholders, strengthening service thinking across the Design community, and shaping responsible AI applications within the product.
Location: Hybrid (Edinburgh or London, UK), requiring 2 days a week in the office. Frequent travel to Edinburgh will be needed if based in London.

What you will do
- Own product evolution cycles from deep discovery, prototyping through to handover with Platform partners.
- Create clarity from ambiguity, defining problem spaces, success measures, and design principles.
- Deliver high-impact Credit Health initiatives that solve user needs and align to business strategy.
- Act as interim Service Design Lead, championing service thinking across the Design community.
- Present design direction regularly to the CEO and other C-level executives, using structured thinking and data-led insights.
- Partner day-to-day with Product, Engineers, Researchers, Data Analysts, and Content Designers to ship cohesive solutions.
- Shape how AI is used within the product, identifying responsible, user-centred applications.
Requirements
- Must be based in Edinburgh or London, UK and work 2 days a week in the office.
- Strong systems thinking, connecting product experiences to operational, commercial, and technical realities.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and leading others through uncertainty with clarity and confidence.
- Proven ability to influence C-suite stakeholders through insight, structured reasoning, and persuasive storytelling.
- Extensive research proficiency, including planning and running multi-method research.
- Strong service design capabilities, with experience mapping and evolving complex end-to-end journeys.
- Rapid prototyping skills, able to use low-to-high fidelity prototypes and leverage AI tools while maintaining high quality.
- Some experience working in regulated, data-heavy, or technically complex domains (e.g., fintech, credit, financial services, open banking).
