PEO Compliance Lead (Benefits Product): Developing and executing comprehensive compliance strategies across integrated benefits and employment-related insurance programs with an accent on regulatory analysis and program management. Focus on operationalizing complex statutes, assessing downstream impacts, and guiding the development of scalable compliance solutions in a multi-state environment.

Location: This is a hybrid role, requiring 2-3 days per week in the office in Scottsdale, AZ, Denver, CO, San Francisco, CA, or New York, NY.

Salary: $112,000-$138,000/yr in Denver & most major metro locations, and $136,000-$167,000/yr for San Francisco & New York.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute comprehensive compliance strategies for integrated benefits and employment-related insurance programs.
  • Lead complex compliance initiatives and operationalize statutes, regulations, and guidance across multiple regulatory domains and jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Operations to translate complex policy implications into actionable business insights.
  • Establish methods, processes, and controls for addressing new or evolving compliance challenges.
  • Serve as a senior subject matter expert, advising stakeholders on complex regulatory questions and contributing to compliance best practices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in benefits compliance, insurance regulation, or a closely related field, with deep expertise in multi-employer insurance arrangements.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting regulated insurance products at scale, including multi-state health insurance offerings.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state insurance regulations, including ERISA, ACA, market conduct rules, producer licensing, and anti-rebating laws.
  • Proven ability to conduct independent regulatory research and interpret statutes, regulations, and guidance.
  • Strong track record of partnering with Product and Operations teams to inform product design and roadmap decisions from a compliance perspective.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex regulatory concepts to non-legal audiences.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with or supporting digital or technology-enabled insurance platforms.
  • Familiarity with state DOI interactions, market conduct exams, or regulatory inquiries.
