Digital Matte Painter (Visual Effects): Responsible for creating 2D, 2.5D, and 3D elements for environment shots in film and television projects with an accent on combining photographic, paint, and 3D assets using techniques like camera animation and image projection. Focus on leveraging expertise in Houdini, Photoshop, Maya, and Nuke to design complex environments.

Location: Must be located in the United States, British Columbia or Ontario. This is a remote (work from home) position. Zoic does not cover relocation costs.

What you will do

• Create 2D, 2.5D, and 3D elements for environment shots.
• Combine photographic, paint, and 3D assets to design environments using techniques such as camera animation, image projection, layering, and lighting.
• Collaborate with VFX Supervisors and Lead Matte Painter on projects.
• Provide and acquire photographic and other reference materials.

Requirements

• Must be located in the United States, British Columbia or Ontario.
• Extensive experience creating 2.5D Environments in Houdini.
• Extensive use and knowledge of Photoshop.
• Strong knowledge of 3D animation programs such as Maya.
• Strong knowledge of Nuke (both 2D & 3D).
• Good knowledge of lighting, rendering, and the compositing process.
• Must present an up-to-date reel showcasing required skills.
