Lighting Supervisor (VFX)

TL;DR

Lighting Supervisor (VFX): Leading a team of Lighting TDs to create, direct and reflect lighting and shadows that meet the creative vision of film projects with an accent on pipeline setup, tool development, and sequence continuity. Focus on coaching artists, providing artistic feedback, and implementing new techniques for high-quality deliverables.

Location: Hybrid in London, United Kingdom (2 days on-site per week required)

What you will do

• Work with production on show and pipeline setup, milestones, and targets
• Support VFX and CG supervisors in creative direction
• Provide technical support to team and communicate software issues
• Collaborate globally on tools, standards, and processes
• Participate in design solutions, efficiency improvements, and give artistic feedback on shots and sequences
• Track lighting continuity, coach Lighting TDs, and participate in recruiting

Requirements

• Ability to plan and execute complex 3D lighting scenes
• Extensive management experience of large teams (10+ members) with leadership skills
• Strong communication, mentoring, and analytical skills
• In-depth knowledge of Linux, Python, and shell scripting
• Knowledge of color theory, composition, lighting, and aesthetics
• Strong working knowledge of Katana, Maya, Nuke, or similar CG/compositing software
• Proficiency in technical problem-solving, debugging, and render optimization
