Security Engineering Lead (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid in Reston, Virginia, United States

Salary: $165,000–$201,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead security engineering and modernization for a 24/7 Cybersecurity Operations Center.
• Engineer, integrate, configure, and maintain SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IDS/IPS, and related CSOC platforms.
• Advance Zero Trust principles, automation, and telemetry coverage across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Optimize security platform performance and manage configuration changes across infrastructure and telecommunications systems.
• Assess emerging technologies and develop implementation plans, technical reports, architecture diagrams, and root cause analysis reports.
• Coordinate responses to information security issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in security administration systems and support.
• Bachelor's degree and a minimum A+, Security+, or Network+ certification; CISSP certification required.
• Experience with network security solutions, Layer 2/Layer 3 devices, NAC, 802.1X, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, web application firewalls, and content filtering.
• Advanced knowledge of encryption, Linux and Windows operating systems, secure communications, SIEM technologies, network protocols, and embedded systems security.
• Strong Bash and PowerShell scripting skills and experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
• Ability to produce technical documentation and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting Zero Trust initiatives.
• Cisco, Red Hat, Microsoft, AWS, or Azure certifications.
• Experience evaluating security technologies and processes that improve enterprise security capabilities.
