Network Security Engineer Master (Palo Alto)

What you will do

• Lead the design, deployment, administration, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls and Panorama.
• Design and govern zero-trust, least-privilege, application-aware, and risk-based security policies.
• Architect, troubleshoot, and test Palo Alto high-availability deployments, including failover, synchronization, and disaster-recovery procedures.
• Lead Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching, routing, VLAN, trunking, ACL, QoS, and network-segmentation initiatives.
• Investigate complex network and security incidents using firewall logs, packet captures, CLI diagnostics, session inspection, and network-monitoring platforms.
• Integrate firewall environments with Cortex XSIAM and Strata Logging Service, partner with SOC teams, lead root-cause analysis, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, network security, firewall administration, or security infrastructure operations.
• 6+ years of hands-on Palo Alto Networks firewall experience in a production enterprise environment.
• Advanced experience with Palo Alto Panorama, high availability, TCP/IP, routing, NAT, VPNs, packet-level troubleshooting, and enterprise switching.
• Experience with network segmentation or microsegmentation, Cortex XSIAM, Strata Logging Service, security-event correlation, and XQL Search.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance; strong technical leadership, documentation, change-management, and incident-management skills.

Nice to have

• Palo Alto or Cisco certifications, including PCNSE, PCNSA, CCNP, or CCIE.
• Experience with Prisma Access, Prisma Cloud, Cortex XDR, Cortex XSOAR, Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI, SD-Access, or Fortinet technologies.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, hybrid-cloud networking, and cloud-security controls.
• Automation experience with Python, Ansible, Terraform, REST APIs, or infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience supporting 24x7 environments, on-call rotations, critical incidents, and emergency changes.
