TL;DR

UX Human Factors Researcher, Consumer (AI, Healthcare): Shaping AI-powered experiences in healthcare and designing personalized care pathways with an accent on understanding user needs and translating complex findings into clear product direction. Focus on leading end-to-end mixed-methods research, synthesizing insights, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to influence product strategy.

Location: Hybrid in San Bruno, California or Boston, MA, USA. Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future.

Salary: $123,500–$185,000 USD (base salary only) + bonus + benefits

What you will do

  • Generate insights to shape AI-powered experiences for understanding and acting on medical data.
  • Partner with product, clinical, and engineering teams to design and test dynamic, personalized care pathways.
  • Build a deep understanding of user needs to inform a patient-centered platform for longitudinal health insights.
  • Lead end-to-end research to inform personalized care recommendations and health-management experiences.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, etc), Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of applied UX research experience.
  • Experience leading or supporting Human Factors studies and documentation.
  • Strong command of qualitative and quantitative methods and tools (e.g., Dscout, Qualtrics), with the ability to analyze complex datasets and apply basic statistics.
  • Must not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.

Nice to have

  • M.A/M.S./Ph.D. in Social Sciences, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design or related field.
  • Experience in consumer healthcare, digital health, or regulated domains, with familiarity in behavior change frameworks and health outcomes research.
  • Experience working on AI-powered or data-driven products.
  • Experience driving alignment in fast-paced 0→1 environments.
