Senior Technical Writer

Senior Technical Writer: Creating documentation deliverables for leading-edge software products deployed in Cloud, SaaS, ASP, and hosted environments with an accent on installation guides, user guides, API reference guides, tutorials, and blogs. Focus on proactively learning about hirify.global products, defining documentation with development teams, and exploring architectural and platform issues to provide technical assistance.

Location: Remote (United States), with a requirement to start work between 7-8 am EST daily to support UK-based teams.

Salary: $101,000 to $159,000

What you will do

• Proactively learn about assigned hirify.global products.
• Work with development teams to define documentation deliverables for each release.
• Research, write, and edit various documentation deliverables, including installation guides, user guides, and API references.
• Coordinate the production and handoff of all final deliverables.
• Proactively explore architectural and platform issues relevant to products, providing technical assistance to various teams.
• Frequently interact with Product Managers, Development, QA, and Technical Publications teams in an iterative environment.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Technical Writing, English, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
• Significant technical writing or software development experience, including providing writing samples.
• Proven ability with English spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and a clear technical writing style.
• Experience writing programming guides, API references, DITA topics, and working with a content management system.
• Demonstrable experience with XML, HTML, Git/Github, and familiarity with Java, Python, or another object-oriented language (Python preferred).
• Must be willing to start work between 7-8 am EST daily.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bitbucket.
• Experience with Markdown or Docs-as-code.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
