TL;DR

HR Operations Manager: Building and leading a scalable, reliable, and human-centered HR operations engine that supports global growth with an accent on operational excellence, compliance, and employee experience. Focus on designing scalable processes, improving documentation, reducing manual work through automation, and ensuring consistency across diverse regions.

Location: Remote-first (Work where you feel most productive). Scope of HR operations includes LatAm, North Macedonia, Portugal, Serbia, USA, Eastern and Western Europe. Opportunities to live for 3 months in Portugal, Colombia, or Macedonia through the Explore Program.

What you will do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a distributed HR Operations team across multiple regions.
  • Set clear standards for ownership, quality, and processes within HR Operations.
  • Own and continuously improve the full HR Operations lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, compliance, payroll coordination, and benefits.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and risks, implementing scalable solutions.
  • Balance global consistency with local legal and cultural requirements.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, HRIS, and Leadership to ensure aligned operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in HR, People, or Operations roles with end-to-end operational ownership.
  • 3 years of experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing operational processes (onboarding, compliance, payroll coordination, contracts, benefits, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience scaling operations in growing environments (startup, scaling company, or evolving organization).
  • Background in the IT/technology sector.
  • Experience working in globally distributed or remote-first organizations.
  • Fluent English used daily in professional environments.

Nice to have

  • Regular collaboration with Finance and/or Legal teams.
  • Process and systems mindset, including automation and workflow optimization.
  • Ability to balance leadership with hands-on execution when needed.
