TL;DR

Director, Air Force (Government IT): Overseeing, managing, and growing government IT programs, including strategic direction and revenue generation for the Air Force Business Unit with an accent on program performance enhancement, business development, and high-level risk management. Focus on leading program managers, securing new contracts, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and driving continuous improvement for national security missions.

Location: Remote (US), with ability to travel. Onsite work is also an option at hirify.global headquarters in McLean, VA.

What you will do

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for multiple government IT programs.
  • Lead and mentor Program Managers, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, driving revenue growth for the Air Force BU.
  • Manage high-level risks and issues, implementing strategic contingency plans.
  • Build strong relationships with senior government clients and internal teams, providing regular updates.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in program processes, tracking KPIs.

Requirements

  • Background in Air Force programs is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software development and agile methods.
  • Ability to work independently, lead teams, and brief leadership effectively.
  • Ability to work in a high-energy environment.
  • Clearance Level: Not required but secret or above preferred.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with AF structure, key players, and offices.
  • Ability to make high-level connections within Air Force leadership.
  • Ability to hold a CAC (Common Access Card) and access to AFBs (Air Force Bases).
