Software Engineer (Backend)

Location: Hybrid in Menlo Park, California, or Bellevue, Washington, United States

Salary: $157K–$230K per year

What you will do

• Design and build backend features and distributed platforms at scale.
• Develop services for the Data Cloud to support secure internal and external data sharing.
• Drive impactful initiatives across globally distributed infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, engineering teams, and business groups on end-to-end solutions.
• Improve engineering processes, tooling, and technical standards.

Requirements

• 2–7 years of industry experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale production systems.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.
• Fluency in Java, Python, C++, or SQL.
• Experience building end-to-end customer-facing products.
• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to follow confidentiality and data-security standards when handling sensitive customer information.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with database internals, data governance, or payment systems.
