Financial Accountant

Location: Hybrid role based at the headquarters in Mannheim, Germany

What you will do

• Record and process ongoing business transactions, including accounts payable, fixed assets, general ledger, banking, cash, credit cards, and travel expenses.
• Coordinate and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for entities in Germany and abroad.
• Take financial responsibility for selected entities, including audit support, reporting, payments, and stakeholder coordination.
• Perform account, intercompany, and statistical reconciliations and advise specialist departments and international subsidiaries.
• Onboard new entities into the accounting system landscape and clarify complex accounting matters with tax advisors, auditors, and controlling.
• Improve accounting processes and systems, including fast-close readiness, internal controls, ERP implementation, internationalization, and M&A projects.

Requirements

• Completed vocational training with further qualification as a tax clerk or certified accountant, or a business administration degree focused on accounting.
• At least 3–5 years of accounting experience, including annual financial statement audits and accounting-related projects, ideally in an international environment.
• Solid knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and tax law; IFRS or US GAAP, including SOX, is advantageous.
• Experience working with complex IT system landscapes and standardizing or digitalizing accounting processes.
• Confident use of Excel, DATEV, and CRM systems; Oracle NetSuite experience is advantageous.
• Fluent German at C2 level and very good English at B2 level are required.

• Experience with IFRS, US GAAP, SOX, or Oracle NetSuite.
