Finance Specialist (Digital Assets)

What you will do

• Prepare and submit German regulatory returns, including Bundesbank AWV statistics, MiCA prudential returns, and PSD2 returns, with complete source-data audit trails.
• Prepare monthly HGB financial statements, process HGB-layer adjustments, and reconcile HGB results to IFRS for group reporting.
• Complete period-end accruals, balance-sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and documented valuation analyses.
• Maintain internal control documentation, accounting procedures, four-eyes working papers, and control-testing protocols.
• Support daily reconciliation and segregation of customer and corporate assets under BaFin requirements and contribute to reconciliation automation.
• Support statutory audits, BaFin and Bundesbank information requests, local accounts payable, and wider financial control activities.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in financial accounting, financial control, or regulatory reporting within a regulated bank, payment institution, or crypto-asset firm.
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB), including accruals, balance-sheet valuation, reconciliations, and period-end close, with the ability to reconcile HGB to IFRS.
• Working knowledge of German regulatory reporting, including AWV, Bundesbank, and BaFin prudential returns, or the ability to acquire it rapidly.
• Fluent German at C1+ level, written and spoken, is mandatory.
• Professional working English is mandatory for regulatory submissions and group-level reporting.
• Understanding of internal control principles, documented control frameworks, and disciplined audit documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with MiCA, PSD2, CRR, FinaRisikoV, or Bundesbank reporting portals.
• Exposure to digital assets, crypto-asset markets, blockchain-related financial processes, or new-product governance.
• Experience with Workday General Ledger or FloQast.
• Part-qualified or working toward WP, StB, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification.
