Director of Product (Payments): Owns the product vision and execution for Canary's payments platform, operating at the intersection of fintech and hospitality. Focus on dramatically expanding payment processor integrations globally, building and scaling payments infrastructure as a platform, and orchestrating complex go-to-market motions for enterprise deals.

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY or San Francisco, CA, with flexibility to visit offices in New York, San Francisco, or Dallas.

Salary: $260,000 - $320,000 a year

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end payments product strategy and define a multi-year vision to expand the Payments business.
• Expand payment processor integrations globally based on market and enterprise needs.
• Build and scale payments infrastructure, including capabilities like card-on-file, tokenization, and fraud detection.
• Coach and develop technical product leaders within the payments domain.
• Orchestrate complex go-to-market motions with Sales, Partnerships, and Marketing for enterprise deals.
• Make pragmatic build vs. buy decisions and iterate based on customer feedback and payment data.

Requirements

• 6+ years in product management, including at least 3+ years in payments.
• Deep understanding of payment processing ecosystems: acquirers, processors, gateways, tokenization, PCI compliance, and interchange economics.
• Track record of building and scaling payment products from 0 to 1 and at scale.
• Experience navigating regulated environments and complex technical integrations with payment processors.
• Strong product judgment for balancing security, compliance, user experience, and commercial outcomes.
• Proven ability to drive enterprise deals where payments are a critical component.
• Technical fluency to partner with Engineering on payments infrastructure and API design.

Nice to have

• Experience with international payments, chargeback management, or fraud prevention.
• Experience with sales and catering / events management software.
