Engineering Manager (Fintech): Leading the FinCrime Core team responsible for an AML platform, impacting sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and regulatory compliance with an accent on high reliability, low latency, and strong audit trails. Location: Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home in London, UK.

What you will do
- Own the AML Screening and Transaction Monitoring domain, setting the 0–6 month technical roadmap.
- Drive architecture decisions for event-driven systems (Kafka, SNS/SQS) and ensure reliable integrations.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, fostering psychological safety and continuous improvement.
- Manage team performance, well-being, and career development.
- Ensure team delivery, sprint planning, and project health, balancing capacity with roadmap demands.
- Act as the primary liaison between engineering and product to ensure full alignment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role.
- Deep understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
- Recent hands-on experience (within the last 5 years) as a Tech Lead or Senior+ Engineer.
- Experience with agile development processes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in regulated industries (FinTech, banking, payments).
- Understanding of AML/KYC processes and compliance requirements.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and Kafka.
- Familiarity with third-party screening or monitoring providers.
- Experience managing on-call rotations for critical systems.
