Technical Lead (PHP)

TL;DR

Technical Lead (PHP): Leading a cross-functional team in building and optimizing web applications for a PropTech platform with an accent on architectural improvements, programming best practices, and scalability. Focus on hands-on development, collaborative problem-solving, and guiding technical direction for production systems at scale.

Location: Hybrid in Manchester, UK (up to 4 days WFH). Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

Salary: £60,000–£70,000

What you will do

• Support, lead, and coach a small but highly talented cross-functional team.
• Be hands-on with building a best-in-class piece of software.
• Drive best programming practices and continuous improvement.
• Work at scale, building tools and systems for large data volumes.
• Collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and customers.
• Guide wider-scale improvements to the platform.

Requirements

• Experienced Lead Developer with strong expertise in PHP, Laravel, and JS.
• Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP).
• Experience building and working within distributed systems.
• Passionate advocate for best practices and continuous improvement.
• Experience building and operating production systems at scale.
• Strong empathy, communication, and collaboration skills.
