Engineering Manager

What you will do

• Lead engineering teams, taking accountability for their deliveries and the health of their technology.
• Manage your team’s delivery cycles, ensuring development work is ready, estimated, and prioritised.
• Support team delivery by dedicating 10-20 hours per week writing code, debugging, and participating in code review.
• Support the team in maintaining high technical standards and best working practices, including documentation.
• Coach your teams in everything from architectural vision to operational excellence.
• Collaborate with the CTO and product management team to set and execute against the right goals.
• Develop engineers on the team, helping them advance in their careers.
• Take a prominent role in recruiting across engineering and product.

Requirements

• You are a capable IC who is able to ship high-quality code.
• You are passionate about helping other engineers achieve their goals and become the best engineers they can.
• You have a solid understanding of what good looks like for a high-performing engineering team of different skillsets and experience levels.
• You actively look for cross-functionality and have experience working with product and operations teams.
• You have worked with functional languages (Clojure, Haskell, Erlang, Elixir etc) in production.
