Payer Business Development Lead (Medtech): Building and expanding hirify.global’s payer vertical by driving new business, developing value propositions, and shaping product experience with an accent on establishing strong relationships with payer organizations and coordinating cross-functional efforts for product launches. Focus on navigating the payer landscape, closing complex enterprise healthcare deals, and scaling new business lines from 0 to 1 in a growth-stage company.

Location: Hybrid (3x/week) in the SoHo NY office with 30% travel. Must be based in the US.

Salary: $142,000–$166,000 with equity and bonus

What you will do

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with payer organizations to drive new business and expand product adoption.
  • Support pipeline development by researching prospects, setting sales strategy, and tracking engagement.
  • Gather, organize, and synthesize payer feedback and market insights for product discovery.
  • Coordinate 0→1 product launches across internal teams and customers for smooth execution.
  • Help build and manage key internal processes for payer pipeline, ensuring alignment and prioritization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in healthcare with experience spanning business development, product, partnerships, or strategy roles.
  • Deep understanding of the payer landscape, including health plan economics, value-based care, quality programs (HEDIS, Stars), utilization management, and revenue cycle management processes.
  • Track record of building and closing complex enterprise healthcare deals with measurable revenue impact.
  • Experience selling 0 to 1, shaping what gets built rather than just selling it.
  • Experience building new business lines or verticals at growth-stage companies.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to move fluidly between strategy, execution, and closing.

Nice to have

  • Experience with clinical documentation workflows, ambient AI, or scribe technology.
  • Familiarity with payer-provider data exchange platforms.
  • Understanding of foundation AI models and their application in healthcare.
  • Background working with health plan innovation or digital health teams.
