TL;DR
Content Designer (Public Sector): Creating clear, user-centred content for public sector clients with an accent on accessibility, GDS standards, and agile methodologies. Focus on shaping content that empowers users, supports service transformation, and seamlessly integrates into the overall user experience.
Location: Hybrid in the UK (Liverpool, London, Manchester, Worthing, Bristol, Newcastle, Birmingham, Telford). Candidates must be based in the UK and have existing permission to work in the UK; sponsorship will not be provided. Must be able to work from a office a minimum of 2-days a week and willing to travel as required.

What you will do
- Design and deliver clear, accessible, user-centred content across digital and offline channels for public sector clients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (user researchers, service designers, interaction designers) to integrate content into user experiences.
- Apply content strategies, write for accessibility, facilitate workshops, and present to stakeholders.
- Use evidence-based approaches and data-driven insights to inform content decisions, aligning with GDS standards.
- Contribute to the wider design community, mentor others, and shape the future of content design within .
- Work in a fast-paced, agile environment, navigating complex policy or technical subject matter.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as a content designer on complex, user-centred design projects from concept to implementation.
- Experience designing content for government or public services, with strong knowledge of GOV.UK service standard.
- Ability to develop user-focused, clear, and concise content for digital and offline channels.
- Experience collaborating with user researchers and other design disciplines to meet user needs and integrate content.
- Experience using data-driven insights to inform content design choices and creating accessible and inclusive services.
- Must be eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance, requiring continuous UK residency for the last 5 years.
- Candidates must be based in the UK and have existing permission to work in the UK; sponsorship will not be provided.

- Experience of leading design sessions and integrating diverse perspectives.
- Experience of prototyping and iterative design processes.
- Understanding of the strategic context of your work and alignment with broader project goals.
- Consultancy experience or multi-disciplinary design skills.
