TL;DR

Manager, Sales Development (AI): Leading and scaling a high-velocity BDR team to drive pipeline generation for startup and commercial market segments with an accent on rapid lead qualification and high-volume outbound prospecting. Focus on establishing repeatable, scalable processes for velocity-driven pipeline development and optimizing sales technology stacks.

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY, with staff expected in the office at least 25% of the time. Visa sponsorship is available.

Salary: $165,000–$235,000 USD (OTE)

What you will do

  • Build, lead, and scale a team of 8-12 BDRs focused on Startup and Commercial segments.
  • Drive high-velocity pipeline generation through optimized inbound lead management and targeted outbound campaigns.
  • Establish and track KPIs for speed-to-lead, conversion rates, and volume metrics.
  • Partner with AEs for tight alignment on ICP, qualification, and handoff processes.
  • Implement and optimize sales technology stack for team efficiency.
  • Coach and develop BDRs on prospecting and career progression.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience managing BDR/SDR teams, preferably in high-growth SaaS or technology companies.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling velocity-focused sales development teams.
  • Experience managing teams prospecting into Startup or Commercial/SMB market segments.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to optimize team performance.
  • Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach/Salesloft, and sales analytics tools.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with PLG or developer-focused go-to-market motions.
  • Experience selling an API product.
  • Background managing teams that handle a high amount of leads per day.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML industry and technical product positioning.
