TL;DR
Geopolitics Analyst, Policy (AI): Building and maintaining 's understanding of international AI developments and competition with an accent on tracking compute, energy, model capabilities, corporate strategies, and policy. Focus on producing actionable analysis for internal strategy and external engagement, and briefing government stakeholders on AI competitive dynamics.
Location: Hybrid, expecting all staff to be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time. Offices are located in Washington, DC, San Francisco, CA, Seattle, WA, and New York City, NY, United States.
Salary: $230,000 - $265,000 USD

What you will do
- Systematically track AI development in strategically significant regions, covering compute, models, funding, and policy.
- Produce clear, well-sourced analytical products for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Develop and brief government officials, congressional staff, and national security community members on international AI competitive dynamics.
- Monitor and analyze primary sources, including foreign-language technical publications.
- Identify emerging trends, capability shifts, and strategic inflection points affecting US competitiveness or 's operating environment.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure external engagement reflects accurate understanding of the global landscape.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous, independent, and clear analysis on complex, ambiguous topics with limited supervision.
- 7+ years of experience in roles demonstrating these capabilities on exceptional, high-performing teams.
- Strong proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (reading ability most critical), with awareness of PRC corporate and tech research resources.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required.
- Ability to work from one of 's US offices at least 25% of the time or be remote within the United States.

Nice to have
- Professional experience in investment banking, management consulting, hedge funds, or equity research (particularly technology and/or Asia).
- Policy experience in government, think tanks, or the private sector.
- Familiarity with semiconductor supply chains, cloud infrastructure economics, or LLM technical fundamentals.
- Existing relationships in the US national security or foreign policy community.
- Experience with open-source intelligence methods or competitive intelligence.
