TL;DR

Principal Narrative Designer (MMO): Defining and crafting resonant narrative experiences for an innovative, early-stage MMO game concept with an accent on rapid implementation, iteration, and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams. Focus on operating in an ambiguous environment, creating multiple potential designs, and pushing for continuous improvements through playtesting.

What you will do

  • Design and implement MMO narrative content.
  • Collaborate with writing teams and project leads to create holistic game experiences.
  • Define high-level principles and best practices for narrative design.
  • Refine narrative tools in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Lead small cross-disciplinary teams to build environments for core gameplay.
  • Create multiple potential designs, articulating trade-offs and risks.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional Narrative Design experience.
  • Experience delivering narrative experiences combining gameplay and storytelling.
  • Proficiency in content scripting within an established game engine.
  • Experience developing template/model content for junior staff.
  • Shipped or worked on at least one AAA+ game.
  • Must be based and authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Experience working on a live product.
  • Experience with narrative design for MMOs.
  • Writing experience on game projects.
  • Significant proficiency (3+ years) with Unreal.
