TL;DR

Location: Hybrid Remote in Austin, TX. Must be based in the U.S. and legally authorized to work without sponsorship.

What you will do
- Conceptualize and implement compelling creature mechanics using Unreal Engine 5.
- Design and bring dynamic, memorable combat encounters to life.
- Implement and iterate on creature behaviors utilizing state machines and Blueprints.
- Collaborate across disciplines to refine combat feel and animation authenticity.
- Lead features and mentor other designers to drive system quality (for Senior/Principal levels).
Requirements
- Strong technical understanding of Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5), especially animation systems and state machines.
- Proficiency with Blueprint scripting and experience with 3D game development pipelines.
- A portfolio demonstrating relevant work in creature design or gameplay implementation.
- Must be based in the U.S. and legally authorized to work without sponsorship.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to iterate quickly based on feedback.
Nice to have
- Experience shipping AA/AAA titles.
- Direct animation experience, particularly related to creature behaviors.
- Experience iterating on gameplay based on playtests and player feedback.
