Configuration Management Specialist (ITSM): Providing operational support for IT asset and configuration management to maximize organizational capabilities and readiness with an accent on data reconciliation, configuration baselines, and lifecycle documentation. Focus on managing service assets, supporting verification processes, and performing impact assessments of proposed changes within a classified environment.

Location: Hybrid (Quantico, VA, USA) with a possibility of one day/week telework after initial training.

What you will do

• Analyze and reconcile large volumes of data to identify discrepancies and develop mitigation strategies.
• Manage and track customer service assets and configuration items, ensuring accurate records.
• Prepare and maintain status reports and lifecycle documentation; support verification processes and audit activities.
• Conduct physical configuration audits at major U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) sites.
• Perform impact assessments of proposed changes, evaluating system dependencies.
• Apply subject matter expertise in IT Asset Management and Configuration Management in alignment with SACM standard operating procedures.
• Create and manage requests to update objects within the Remedy system.

Requirements

• IAT II certification (e.g., Security+CE, CYSA+).
• IT Infrastructure Library Foundations (ITILv3 or higher) certification.
• 2-3 years providing IT Asset/Configuration Management Support.
• Familiarization with IT Service Management (ITSM) concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Mid-level understanding of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
• Strong attention to detail, standards compliance, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Active Secret Clearance is required.
• Must work primarily on-site in Quantico, VA.

Nice to have

• BMC Atrium Configuration Management Database (CMDB) training 8.0 or greater.
• Mid-level knowledge of the BMC Remedy ITSM suite and associated consoles.
• 4-6 years providing IT Asset/Configuration Management Support.
• Mid-level knowledge of BMC Internal Reporting Tool (BIRT), BMC Analytics, and SMART reporting.
