Senior Software Engineer (Financial Technology)

Location: New York, New York, United States

Annual base pay: $180,000–$250,000. The posting also includes a separate $90,000–$150,000 base-pay range.

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, and support applications, features, and platforms for post-trade operations.
• Build and maintain systems for transaction capture, near-real-time and end-of-day positions, executions, trades, reporting, and P&L.
• Develop drop-copy and FIX integrations across listed and OTC asset classes and connect reporting facilities with prime brokers and books of record.
• Build cloud-deployed microservices using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Lead technical projects and strategic initiatives within an Agile framework.
• Provide global Level 3 support, improve platform performance, and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

• At least seven years of financial-services experience working on trade-lifecycle applications.
• At least seven years of Java development experience.
• Expertise in software design and architecture, preferably including microservices.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL; REST APIs; and messaging systems, preferably Kafka.
• Experience leading technical initiatives from start to finish, mentoring junior developers, and delivering results with strong ownership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with listed and OTC instruments used in Global Macro strategies, including fixed income, credit, rates, equities, and futures.
• Experience developing and supporting stateful applications built on Apache Flink.
• Knowledge of AWS, Docker, Kubernetes with Helm, CI/CD, and build automation.
