Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Fintech): Creating a platform that serves as the golden data source for post trade operational data including transaction capture, near real-time positions, start-of-day position, end-of-day position, trades, executions and P&L with an accent on Drop copy and FIX integrations for post trade. Focus on building and maintaining all systems related to the fund’s intraday and end of day trade reporting facilities across all investments.

Salary: $180,000 - $250,000

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy and support existing applications as well as new features and platforms.
• Run projects and lead initiatives within an Agile framework.
• Contribute to a highly supportable, future-ready, performant code base.
• Build microservices that deploy to the cloud (AWS) using containers (Docker) orchestrated by Kubernetes with Helm.
• Improve and expand platform capabilities based on rapidly changing business requirements.
• Provide Level 3 support across the globe.

Requirements

• At minimum, seven years of experience in financial services, working on applications supporting the trade lifecycle.
• At minimum, seven years of Java development.
• Expertise with design and architecture (microservices experience preferred).
• Experience leading strategic technical initiatives from start to finish.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Experience with building and consuming from REST APIs.
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka preferred).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience mentoring junior developers.
• Strong ownership experience and a track record of delivering results.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting listed and OTC instruments typical in a Global Macro strategy (Fixed Income, Credit, Rates, Equities, Futures).
• Experience developing and supporting stateful applications build on Apache Flink.
• Experience and knowledge of cloud services such as AWS.
• Experience and knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes with Helm.
• Experience and knowledge of DevOps methodologies such as CI/CD and build automation.
