Senior Software Engineer - PaaS Engineering (AI)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; at least 3 days per week in the office required. The role includes 5–10% travel and is performed in an office setting.

Salary: $110,700–$171,800 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Build web experiences and services for an internal cloud infrastructure automation platform.
• Develop capabilities for requesting and managing VM, container, and bare-metal environments.
• Implement workflow automation, orchestration, relationship graphs, utilization visualizations, and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Design and maintain scalable, distributed, multithreaded applications with production-ready test coverage.
• Apply Generative AI and agentic patterns to create self-service and self-healing automation.
• Participate in architecture, design, code reviews, documentation, deployment, and maintenance activities.

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with object-oriented design, Java, Spring Framework, REST services, and web applications.
• Experience with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and automation around cloud APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and Terraform.
• Knowledge of Generative AI, agentic frameworks, and integrating GenAI solutions into existing systems.
• Experience with databases, messaging, frontend technologies, Linux or Windows, and monitoring or logging tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with asynchronous workflow automation and orchestration engines such as Temporal.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Splunk, CloudWatch, or the ELK stack.
