Senior Application Programmer / Java Developer (Java)

Location: Remote within the United States; US citizenship required

Salary: $130,000–$166,000 annually, depending on experience

What you will do

• Participate in requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise applications.
• Modernize complex DHS legacy systems by translating mission-critical functionality into platform-based architectures, including Palantir target-platform integration.
• Develop and maintain applications with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful services, MVC, JDBC, and modern web technologies.
• Build unit tests, remediate SonarQube findings, debug applications, and resolve technical issues across environments.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, cloud deployments, and infrastructure using Jenkins/CloudBees, Git, AWS, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Work with databases and messaging systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams and periodically supporting Help Desk troubleshooting.

Requirements

• US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 10+ years of application or Java development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java 8+, Spring Boot, RESTful web services, MVC architecture, and JDBC.
• Experience with React, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, Node, Struts, Maven, and jQuery.
• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, SQL optimization, MQ or Kafka, Windows, and Linux.
• Knowledge of AWS, CI/CD, Git, Terraform, Ansible, monitoring tools, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and cross-platform interoperability.

• Current DHS Public Trust Suitability.
• Prior Palantir experience is not required; training and certification are provided.
