TL;DR

Director, Solutions Consulting (Observability): Leading and scaling a high-performing team of Solutions Consultants to drive technical sales strategy and achieve revenue targets with an accent on technical win methodologies, executive sponsorship, and operational excellence. Focus on building C-suite relationships, synthesizing market feedback for product roadmap influence, and ensuring technical differentiation against competitors.

Location: Must be based in Australia (Melbourne or Sydney) and requires ability to travel within the region. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

What you will do

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a team of Solutions Consultants, fostering technical excellence and value-based selling.
  • Act as an executive technical sponsor for enterprise deals, building relationships with CTOs and CIOs.
  • Define and optimize Solutions Consulting engagement models, including discovery standards and Proof of Concept frameworks.
  • Partner with Regional Sales Directors to align technical resources with territory goals and ensure a healthy pipeline.
  • Synthesize regional market requirements and competitive intelligence to influence the product roadmap.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in Pre-Sales/Solutions Consulting, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Deep understanding of the Observability landscape (APM, Logging, Infrastructure) and Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with OpenSource standards (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana) and modern software architectures (Microservices, Serverless, Kubernetes).
  • Mastery of value-based selling methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC, Command of the Message).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel within the region to support key customer engagements and team offsites.
  • Existing work authorization for Australia is required, as visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • MBA is a plus.
  • Development experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, .NET, Ruby, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, React.
  • Experience with open source technologies including Opencensus and ELK.
