Staff Engineer (Identity): Building and optimizing the next-generation Identity platform for an API-first world with an accent on technical strategy, long-term architecture, and operational excellence for highly secure, scalable, and reliable systems. Focus on designing and implementing critical tier 0 services, mentoring senior engineers, and driving cross-functional initiatives for hundreds of millions of developers.
Location: This role is based in the greater San Francisco area, and employees are expected to come into the office 3-days a week.

What you will do
- Provide technical leadership for the architecture of highly secure, scalable, reliable, and performant Identity systems.
- Lead the delivery of multiple projects in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring consistency with architecture.
- Build an operational center of excellence with effective observability, scale, and performance considerations.
- Partner with product leaders and Senior Engineering Managers to prioritize work and create a balanced roadmap.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive organizational design and influence strategy.
- Mentor senior engineers and foster the next level of engineering leadership.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong experience with relevant industry standards in the identity management space (e.g., SAML, SCIM, SSO, oAuth, FIDO).
- 10+ years of hands-on coding experience with common programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Java, PHP, Python, JavaScript, NodeJS).
- 10+ years of engineering experience building end-to-end backend services.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects with meaningful business impact.
- Exceptional problem-solving, design, and analytical skills, including designing highly scalable systems.
