What you will do

• Lead a division of software engineering teams specializing in Payroll Services, overseeing multiple teams and managing engineering managers.
• Coach and mentor leaders, fostering individual and team performance.
• Consult with leaders across Product Development (Product Design, Product Management, QA, and IT) to deliver software solutions.
• Embrace and lead AI engineering practices, integrating AI into products.
• Collaborate with architects and platform teams to address technical/architectural hurdles.
• Contribute to ongoing system and process improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of heavy experience focused in payroll or financial operations.
• 15+ years of experience in software development.
• 10+ years of experience in SaaS and SMB.
• 5+ years of demonstrated Director-level / technical leadership experience.
• Proficiency in MySQL/MSSQL (query language and database structure/design).
• Demonstrated leadership in modernizing payroll SaaS systems.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.
• Architectural, hands-on experience in Payroll Services.
• Experience in PHP, Python, Java, or C#, with a desire to work in PHP (7.4+).
• Experience in React, HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
