Software Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Foster City, California, United States; hybrid workplace

Base salary: $163,000–$263,000 per year

Zoox is developing a fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting mobility ecosystem for urban environments.

What you will do

• Develop mission planner algorithms, including graph search and behavioral planning integration.
• Integrate and test applications in autonomous robots, then improve their performance.
• Collaborate with teams across Zoox to integrate software components.
• Set short- and long-term technical direction for mission planning.
• Coordinate initiatives across Mission Planning, Behavioral Planning, and Cloud Services.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of industry experience.
• Programming proficiency in C++.
• Experience with graph search techniques such as A*, D*, and Dijkstra.
• Experience modeling real-world problems with Markov Decision Processes or related frameworks.
• Experience developing scalable solutions for sequential decision-making under uncertainty and constraints, with code shipped in a commercial product.

Nice to have

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with autonomous robots.
