TL;DR

Credit Risk Oversight Manager (Fintech): Providing independent oversight and assurance of credit risk across the lending lifecycle, including underwriting, portfolio management, affordability, collections, and recoveries. Focus on analysing existing product performance, developing monitoring metrics, and providing deep insight and challenge on credit strategies.

Location: London or Remote (UK). This role offers a hybrid approach from the London office or a fully remote basis within the UK. Our data teams are based all over the UK, including Cardiff and London.

Salary: £55,000 to £77,000 + stock options

What you will do

  • Provide ongoing oversight of credit risk, including performance analysis and monitoring metric enhancement.
  • Partner with first-line teams to support credit strategy changes and new product launches.
  • Deliver deep insight, feedback, and independent challenge on credit strategies for optimal decision-making.
  • Lead second-line assurance work and thematic reviews.
  • Collaborate with model validation and development teams to ensure understanding of credit models.
  • Provide credit expertise for strategic projects and critical hirify.global-wide processes like stress-testing and forecasting.

Requirements

  • Strong background in credit risk management within consumer or small business lending.
  • Proven analytical skills to interrogate data and identify trends.
  • Hands-on experience or understanding of scorecards and NPV models for credit decisions.
  • Solid technical toolkit, including SQL or similar.
  • Ability to convey problems and solutions using clear and simple language.
  • Impact-driven with a self-starter mindset.

Nice to have

  • Experience in unsecured, revolving products such as credit cards.
  • Experience using a data visualisation tool (such as Looker, PowerBI or Tableau).
