What you will do
- Design, architect, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable Microsoft RDS infrastructure.
- Lead and execute the migration and upgrade of existing RDS environments from Windows Server 2012 to 2019.
- Manage all RDS components and configure high availability for seamless user connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to the RDS environment, performance, and application delivery.
- Administer and support the underlying Windows Server infrastructure, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts and implement security best practices.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations and procedures.
- Provide Level 3 technical support and serve as a subject matter expert for RDS.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 5-8 years (or commensurate) experience.
- 3-5 years of direct experience with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
- Proven, hands-on experience upgrading RDS environments from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2019.
- Strong experience in Windows Server administration (2012, 2016, 2019) and managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and other core Windows services.
- Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Strong scripting skills, particularly with PowerShell, for automation and management.
- Experience sequencing, publishing, and maintaining App-V applications.
- Ability to obtain and hold a Secret level clearance.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid capacity (1-3 days onsite a week).
- Currently possess a Network+ (or equivalent) certification.
Nice to have
- Past experience working with the United States Coast Guard and/or past DOD experience.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA, or Azure-related certifications).
- Possess a Security+ Certification (or equivalent).
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
