TL;DR

Principal Data Scientist (Data Science ML): Developing and improving Bing's A/B experimentation platform and key metrics to drive product decisions with an accent on large-scale online experimentation and user engagement analysis. Focus on designing robust metrics, analyzing controlled experiments, and enabling data-driven decision making for Bing's search engine.

Location: Mountain View, United States, onsite with expectation to work from office at least four days per week

Salary: $139,900–$304,200 per year

What you will do

• Drive improvements and establish long-term capabilities for Bing's A/B experimentation platform.
• Analyze online user engagement and controlled experiments to produce actionable insights.
• Develop and refine key metrics to guide product ship decisions.
• Create tools to help feature teams understand metric movements and impacts.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to influence Bing's product direction.

Requirements

• Location: Must be within 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S.
• Doctorate with 5+ years, Master's with 7+ years, or Bachelor's with 10+ years experience in relevant fields or equivalent experience.
• Experience with SQL-like query languages and programming in Python, Java, C# or C++.
• Strong design and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with online A/B experimentation and large-scale online products preferred.
