TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (AI): Building highly scalable, high-throughput, low-latency systems for a next-generation platform powering online Search experiences with an accent on performance optimization, re-usability, and maintainability. Focus on designing and implementing services, leveraging AI for productivity tools, and contributing to complex systems for search, maps, and advertising.

Location: Bengaluru, India. Employees are expected to work from the office at least four days per week, if they live within a 25-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office.

What you will do

• Build highly scalable, highly available services deployed globally.
• Collaborate with partner teams to deliver platform-level features for search, advertising, and enterprise search.
• Design, write, and implement services with focus on performance, efficiency, reusability, and maintainability.
• Leverage AI to build tools that enhance productivity.
• Develop systems and toolsets compatible with multiple orchestrators, source control (ADO, GitHub), and build systems.
• Mentor team engineers, offering hands-on assistance and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with Web technology, Search engines, and large scalable systems.
• System level design and architectural understanding.
• English: B2 required.

Nice to have

• Experience working on large scalable, high performant systems.
• Experience with ASP.NET.
• Good understanding of HTTP protocol and Networking basics.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines like Azure DevOps, GitHub Workflow.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity to prioritize issues.
