What you will do

• Own and administer the People tech stack (HRIS, automations, reporting) ensuring scalability and data integrity.
• Design and manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, transitions, and offboarding.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and maintain HR policies and audits.
• Manage benefits, compensation workflows, payroll coordination, and rewards programs.
• Serve as a trusted employee contact, mediating disputes and supporting performance management.
• Collaborate with leadership on people strategy, headcount planning, and scaling operations.

Requirements

• Must be onsite in Palo Alto, CA, USA, 5 days/week.
• 7+ years in People/HR Operations with 2+ years in leadership, preferably in fast-paced startups.
• Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, AI, biotech, or fintech.
• Strong expertise with HRIS systems, especially Rippling, and multi-state labor law compliance.
• Analytical mindset with strong data and reporting skills.
• High emotional intelligence and sound judgment handling sensitive information.

Nice to have

• Experience partnering with Finance on headcount and compensation planning.
• Experience with global expansion or international HR operations.
• Background in scaling companies from early-stage through hypergrowth.
