Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

Location: Remote; no college degree is required, and the role is remote-friendly outside the U.S.

What you will do

• Improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of the Ruby on Rails application.
• Design and optimize data storage with PostgreSQL and object storage services.
• Build features for teams, organizations, and developer communities.
• Develop integrations with external platforms to expand the product ecosystem.
• Review and shape peer code with a focus on quality, security, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Ruby on Rails experience.
• 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Experience with AWS and modern cloud infrastructure.
• Experience building web applications with REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Production experience with Node and TypeScript, working across Rails and Node/TypeScript stacks.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Cloudflare Workers or edge infrastructure.
• Interest in AI or LLMs.
• Experience integrating GitHub APIs or other version control systems.
• Familiarity with CSS, SASS, HTML, and other templating or styling languages.
