Staff Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote

Salary: $84,000–$96,000 per year for the Staff Engineer level. Software Engineer compensation is $54,000–$63,000 and Tech Lead compensation is $67,000–$78,000.

What you will do

• Optimize registration, identity verification, KYC, KYB, and fraud-prevention flows for speed, security, and low friction.
• Architect and evolve foundational identity, profile, status, and user-preference services used across the Cashea ecosystem.
• Build fault-tolerant integrations with biometric, fraud-prevention, KYC, and data-enrichment providers.
• Define asynchronous user lifecycle events, including registration, tier changes, and profile updates.
• Establish engineering standards for code quality, testing, observability, and safe rollbacks.
• Partner with technical and product leaders while mentoring senior engineers and influencing the architecture roadmap.

Requirements

• Staff- or Principal-level experience designing and operating complex distributed systems at scale.
• Advanced Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript expertise, or equivalent technical leadership experience with Rust or Go.
• Strong systems-design knowledge, including Hexagonal Architecture, DDD, CQRS, REST/gRPC APIs, PostgreSQL optimization, and Redis caching.
• Experience with message queues and event streaming such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Pub/Sub.
• Experience implementing resilient third-party integrations with fallback patterns, circuit breakers, and intelligent retries.
• Spanish and English proficiency required.
