What you will do

• Lead and mentor a small, capable team across frontend, backend, mobile, DevOps, and UI disciplines.
• Design and guide scalable, maintainable solutions including architecture and technical delivery.
• Translate business goals into technical plans, manage sprints, and ensure timely releases.
• Promote coding standards, conduct code reviews, and foster a collaborative team culture.
• Communicate technical progress and risks clearly to the CEO and stakeholders.
• Coordinate incident responses and support critical project delivery with occasional overtime.

Requirements

• Must have 10+ years in software development with 2+ years in leadership roles, ideally in startup or scale-up environments.
• Strong full-stack technical background with PHP (Laravel), Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript (React preferred), and AWS experience.
• Experience with microservices, REST APIs, MySQL, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools like Terraform.
• Ability to communicate technical updates effectively to C-suite executives.
• Location requirement: Remote within the UK with monthly team meetups and occasional travel to Spain.

Nice to have

• Experience with Flutter, Android, Kubernetes, Docker, Azure, and ElasticSearch.
• Background in retail or digital signage technology environments.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and infrastructure as code.
