TL;DR

Software Development Manager (ShareGate): Building and leading a new engineering team focused on modernizing the ShareGate platform architecture with an accent on legacy migration and technical debt reduction. Location: Remote (Must be based in Canada)

Salary: $145,000–$185,000 CAD

A Montreal-based tech company building the hirify.global Agent HR platform and ShareGate, a leading solution for Microsoft 365 migration and governance.

What you will do

  • Build and shape a new engineering team from the ground up, including hiring, onboarding, and development.
  • Define and drive the technical direction for re-architecting and modernizing the ShareGate platform.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle, contributing hands-on to code, design, and quality.
  • Drive engineering excellence across testing, security, observability, and performance.
  • Optimize delivery flow through CI/CD, automation, and tooling standards.
  • Partner with Product and Design to scope and deliver high-value, pragmatic solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Development Manager with a strong background as a developer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading modernization efforts, including legacy migration or re-architecture at scale.
  • Experience building and scaling engineering teams from scratch.
  • Proficiency with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or Lean).
  • Must be based in Canada.
